As a wife and mom of three growing boys, I searched for a way to make money on the side to help with the bills while still enabling me to stay home with the kids. I always enjoyed making jewelry so I began studying new techniques of hand-making bracelets, earrings, rings and necklaces that I had never thought of before. Once I got started, it was clear to me that this was something I could do in my spare time while continuing to be a stay at home mom! Perfect!
But first, I had to educate myself a bit more on my craft. I researched different styles and materials to make affordable jewelry that mom’s like me could afford. I learned from books, Youtube videos, even other jewelry designers. I purchased quality supplies and got to work designing my version of what pretty, trendy and fun yet affordable jewelry was to me. I set up displays at several Flea Markets and Holiday Events and “tested the waters”. As it turned out, the “waters” were great!
I opened my first online Ladybugfeet Designs jewelry shop in 2013. http://Ladybugfeetdesigns.net Friends and family graciously made purchases and as my business grew so too did my children. I went back to work full-time and cut out time in the evenings to fulfill orders. Wanting the freedom to offer pre-made designs along with my own handmade designs, I opened my own website in 2017. http://Ladybugfeetdesigns.com
I also expanded my reach when I was offered consignment space at Jennifer Crafts in Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Jewelry design is an ever-growing, ever-changing, learning experience for me. Not only is it a therapeutic task, it is very fulfilling knowing that the jewelry I create with my hands will now assist in financing my children’s college fund. Everything happens for a reason and I believe Ladybugfeet Designs did too.
But enough about me, how can I help you?
